Current Job OpportunityDate: January 31, 2012 Closing Date: February 9, 2012 Position Number: 11722 Position Title: Court Program Specialist II Job Location: Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Miami, Florida Salary Range: $3,009.61 - $5,718.26 (Monthly*) *The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary. The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist Family Court judges with the timely disposition of family law cases through case management, case monitoring and program implementation. The position is responsible for providing information to pro se litigants and system staff, reviewing filings of pro se litigants and making referrals to community-based services, managing and preparing cases for court hearings and briefing judges, attending hearings, maintaining record/filing system, training and assisting new departmental personnel, scheduling hearings, and performing related clerical functions. The position is responsible for collecting and reporting on case/program data, maintaining databases as needed. The position works under general supervision of Family Court Manager developing work methods and sequences. Education and Training Guidelines:Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis. Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, pre-law or a closely social science related field and three years of related experience. Juris doctorate degree may substitute for required experience. Competencies: Data Responsibility: People Responsibility: Assets Responsibility: Mathematical Requirements: Communications Requirements: Complexity of Work: Impact of Decisions: Equipment Usage: Safety of Others: Special Comments: The Appellate Panel Coordinator and Case Manager prepares and maintains the appellate panel rotation list of Circuit Court Judges and ensures that panel selection criteria are met. In addition, the Case Manager prepares the panel rotation list for County Court Judges overseeing administrative cases. The Case Manager performs various case management functions to ensure that requirements and criteria are met before assigning the case to an appellate panel. Assigned and scheduled cases are communicated to the Clerk of the Court. The Case Manager answers case inquiries and handles requests from State Attorney’s Office and private appellate attorneys. After the hearing is set, hearing notices are mailed to all parties and copies are provided to the Clerk of Courts for recording. This position works closely with the Appellate Administrative Judge and assists with answering questions received from Judges, appellate attorneys, and the general public about the appellate panel process. The position works independently according to procedures and reports activities through periodic meetings.
