The Court Interpreter Certification Board is a ten-member body under the supervisory authority of the Supreme Court of Florida (and created by the Court), to supervise the certification and conduct of persons that provide foreign language interpreting services in the trial courts. The duties of the board include:
- The certification, regulation, discipline, suspension, and revocation of certification of court interpreters;
- The authority to adopt rules governing its operating procedures; and
- The authority to make recommendations to the Supreme Court regarding amendment of related rules.
The board is comprised of the following persons appointed by the Chief Justice:
- Two county court judges;
- Three circuit court judges;
- Three trial court administrators; and
- Two federally certified court interpreters.
Board Vacancies:
Applications are currently being accepted for one of the federally certified court interpreter positions.
