Senior Court Analyst II

$4,008.25 - $4,499.60 (Monthly*)
This is a mid-level professional position responsible for collecting, processing, maintaining and analyzing data and statistical information for use in the management of court programs and operations. The position is responsible for participating in all aspects of the Data Administration function including systems development and administration, data acquisition, preparation, quality, governance and analysis. The position assists in the development and maintenance of data management systems, including applications, hardware and the data itself. The position will serve as both team leader and team member on a variety of projects and is responsible for developing computer programs to process and warehouse data, managing data quality, assisting end users in transmitting and receiving data, troubleshooting systems, upgrading hardware and software and monitoring server backups. This position also prepares research data sets, statistical reports, data collection plans, data dictionaries, training materials and manuals. The position handles miscellaneous ad hoc requests and provides general project support.
Education and Training Guidelines
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, statistics, the social sciences or a closely related field and four years of related experience, including extensive knowledge of the Florida Courts System.
Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data management, information technology or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience preferred.
Synthesizes or integrates analysis of data or information to discover facts or develop knowledge or interpretations; modifies policies, procedures, or methodologies based on findings.
Refers to individuals who have contact with or are influenced by the position. Supervises or directs others by determining or interpreting work procedures, assigning specific duties, maintaining harmonious relations, and promoting efficiency.
Requires responsibility and opportunity for achieving moderate economies and/or preventing moderate losses through the management, handling or auditing of supplies of high value or moderate amounts of money.
Uses practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements, or logarithms; may use algebraic solutions of equations and equalities, deductive geometry, and/or descriptive statistics; may use basic algebra calculating variables and formulas, and/or basic geometry, calculating plane and solid figures.
Reads and interprets advanced professional materials; writes extremely complex reports and papers; speaks to high level professional groups.
Complexity of Work:
Performs work involving the application of logical principles and thinking to solve practical problems within or applying to a unit or division of the organization; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results and frequent exposure to unusual pressure.
Impact of Decisions:
Makes decisions with moderately serious impact - affects work unit and may affect other units or citizens.
Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications.
Safety of Others:
Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.
Proficiency in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) required. Programming and analytical experience required. Experience with the Python programming language and unix tools/Powershell environment desirable. SAS, Perl, R, VBA or other languages a plus. A basic understanding or counting principles and strong experience in data scrubbing and validation techniques.
