Job Description

This is a professional position responsible for assisting in the collection, processing, maintenance and analysis of data and statistical information for the use in the management of court programs and operations. The position will participate in all aspects of the Data Administration.  The position will serve as a team member on a variety of projects developing computer programs to process and warehouse data, managing data quality, assisting end users in transmitting and receiving data, monitoring server backups and identifying areas for process improvement.

Education and Training Guidelines

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.  

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences or a closely related field and three years of related experience, including extensive knowledge of the Florida Courts System.

Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data management, information technology or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience preferred.

Makes decisions with moderate impact - affects those in work unit.
 

Equipment Usage:
Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications.
 

Safety of Others:
Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.

Special Comments

Proficiency in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) required. Programming and analytical experience required.  Experience with the Python programming language and unix tools/Powershell environment desirable. SAS, Perl, R, VBA or other languages a plus. A basic understanding or counting principles and strong experience in data scrubbing and validation techniques.
