Court Education Program Coordinator

$3,009.61 - $5,718.26 (Monthly*)

The essential function of the position within the organization is to plan, coordinate and implement the logistics for continuing education courses for Florida's trial and appellate judges. The position is responsible for collaborating with planning committees, negotiating with hotels, audio-visual companies and printers, reviewing contracts in collaboration with attorneys, preparing flyers/announcements, maintaining records, managing budgets, auditing invoices for accuracy, requesting the purchase of course supplies, preparing financial reports, preparing and shipping educational materials, serving as a registrar, and supervising compilation of program evaluations. The position works independently and as part of the program team, reporting major activities through periodic meetings. This person should be versed in Word, Excel, and 508 compliance.
Education and Training Guidelines
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.
- A bachelor's degree in education, public administration, communication or a closely related field and one year of related experience.

Communications Requirements - Writes reports; sometimes makes presentations to professional groups.
Complexity of Work - Performs work involving the application of logical principles and thinking to solve practical problems within or applying to a unit or division of the organization; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results and frequent exposure to unusual pressure. Requires critical thinking skills.
Impact of Decisions - Makes decisions with moderate impact - affects those in work unit and other units.
Equipment Usage - Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs, such as word processing or custom applications - such as Desktop Publishing.
Safety of Others - Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience handling highly-detailed logistics planning for events similar to educational programs and conferences including the registration process, assembly of materials, and administration of on-site logistics; experience creating and working in Microsoft Excel using formulas; experience handling money and managing a budget. Job requires problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
