Paralegal – Supreme Court
Supreme Court Central Staff, Tallahassee, Florida
$3,599.46 - $7,249.31 Monthly*
*The successful candidate will be hired at $3,625.00 monthly.
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist with the timely processing of routine cases and amendments to the rules, forms, and standard jury instructions. The position is responsible for providing high-level case-management and administrative support to the Court’s central staff of attorneys and preparing certain routine case- and rule-related documents under the supervision of an attorney.
Assist central staff attorneys with the timely processing of routine cases and rule/jury instruction amendments; provide high-level case-management and administrative support to central staff attorneys; prepare routine documents under the supervision of a staff attorney; and perform other related work.
Education and Training Guidelines
- An associate’s degree in paralegal studies from an approved paralegal program recognized by the American Bar Association or Florida Bar.
- Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.
- Four years of related experience.
- Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Required:
- Florida Registered Paralegal preferred.
Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Strong writing, oral communication, grammar, and research skills. Basic understanding of legal terminology and principles, statutory and case law, court rules, legal citation, and online legal databases. Ability to work independently and with others, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
