**** FAPM 4th Canned Food Drive **** |
The Florida Academy of Professional Mediators' (www.tfapm.org) Community Involvement Committee will be conducting its fourth Canned Food Drive during the Annual DRC Conference at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.
Registrants are asked to donate (at least) one can of food which will be collected by the Salvation Army on Friday, August 26, 2005 at 12:00 noon and then distributed to area food banks. Cash donations and checks made payable to: The Salvation Army are also welcome. Last year's FAPM Food Drive at the conference was a great success. Your generous support of this event will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your kindness.

**** 22nd Annual Awards for Excellence **** |
The CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution announced the winners of the 22nd Annual CPR Awards Program at a dinner held at New York's Plaza Hotel. The CPR Awards Program honors outstanding use and scholarship in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). General Mills, Kaye Scholer LLP and Peter and Linda Hoffman are sponsors of the Awards Program.
Senator George J. Mitchell was selected as the winner of the James F. Henry Award, named in honor of the CPR Institute's founder, for his sustained, outstanding ADR contributions. Senator Mitchell's contributions include his work in mediating the settlement of the Northern Ireland dispute, the Deutsche Bank Building dispute following 9/11 and his ireless support of NAFTA and other bills containing ADR provisions. |

Well-known, dispute resolution educator John W. Cooley has revised and updated The Arbitrator's Handbook for lawyers and continuing legal education arbitration courses. John W. Cooley serves on the judicial panel of Judicial Dispute Resolution, Inc., in Chicago and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School and Northwestern University School of Law.
