    Position Title: Senior Court Analyst I

    Job Location: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Community and Intergovernmental Relations, Tallahassee, Florida

    Salary Range: $3,438.98 - $6,534.06 (Monthly*)

    *The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.


    This is a professional position that provides support to the Supreme Court and State Courts System’s legislative and communication program.  The position is primarily responsible for providing support and assistance in advancing the Chief Justice’s and State Court System’s legislative package, providing professional communication counsel and services to judicial leadership, court committees, and court staff, and serving as an editorial consultant to Office of the State Courts Administrator staff as needed. The position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.


    Education and Training Guidelines:

    Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences or a closely related field and three years of related experience, including extensive knowledge of the Florida Courts System.

    *Knowledge of Florida governmental operations and the legislative process is needed.

    Uses practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements, or logarithms; may use algebraic solutions of equations and equalities, deductive geometry, and/or descriptive statistics.

    Reads and interprets advanced professional materials; writes complex reports and papers; speaks to high level professional groups.

    Complexity of Work:
    Performs work involving the application of principles of logical thinking, scientific or legal practice to diagnose or define problems, collect data and solve abstract problems with widespread unit or organization impact; requires sustained, intense concentration for accurate results and continuous exposure to unusual pressure.

    Impact of Decisions:
    Makes decisions with moderate impact - affects those in work unit.

    Equipment Usage:
    Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications.

    Safety of Others:
    Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.


    Special Comments:

    *Knowledge of the techniques and technology used in publications management and production. Ability to communicate effective in writing and orally.  Ability to develop strategies, plans, recommendations, and procedures to support court initiatives and activities.  Ability to research, assess, and analyze legislative information.  Ability to identify, monitor, and track court-related legislation.  Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and activities.  Ability to plan, edit, and proofread reports, articles, and other written materials.
    Knowledge of public relations, public information, and journalism and the application there of, in an organizational context.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with judicial leadership, court officials, legislators, and legislative staff.
