Salary Range: $6,149.59 - $11,684.22

The essential function of the position within the organization is to conduct hearings and make determinations on child support matters referred for hearing by family court judges. The position is responsible for setting referred cases for hearing, conducting hearings, making determinations on cases, and preparing reports and recommendations with accompanying orders for the referring judge’s signature. The position works under the general supervision of a Chief Judge or designee.
*The activities that may be performed for which compensation will be provided are limited to duties only for cases under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. §§ 651 et seq.) including: scheduling, preparing for and conducting hearings in Title IV-D child support establishment and enforcement cases; conducting research; preparing orders; administrative duties directly related to these activities; and any other activity specified in 45 C.F.R. §§ 304.20(b)(2)-(8) that is relevant to the duties of a hearing officer. The position works under the general supervision of a Chief Judge or designee.
Education and Training Guidelines:
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.
Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and five years of experience in the practice of law.
*Membership in good standing and valid driver's license.

Special Comments:
**Travel throughout the circuit will be required. A reliable vehicle will be needed.
