Position Title: Court Operations Consultant

Job Location: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Personnel Services, Tallahassee, Florida

Salary Range: $4,370.40 - $8,303.76 (Monthly*)

*It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.


The essential function of the position within the organization is to develop and maintain personnel and payroll databases to prepare a variety of ad hoc and other management reports for the provision of accurate and timely information to the Chief of Personnel Services in support of the Office of the State Courts Administrator and the State Courts System’s budget commissions and their subcommittees.  The position is responsible for analyzing the effect of personnel action requests; recommending annual pay policy changes and proposals; conducting position classification audits; analyzing proposed legislation concerning judicial and staff compensation and benefits and preparing Judicial Impact Statements; and preparing and submitting mass updates to the People First system. The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.


Education and Training Guidelines:

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, public or business administration, human resource administration, social science or a closely related field.

Experience: Five years of related experience.  Experience with Florida state government human resource management required.


Special Comments:

Advanced Excel skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills required. Experience working with Florida’s People First system (including use of Impromptu) and classification and pay experience highly preferred.

Impact of Decisions:
Makes decisions with moderately serious impact - affects work unit and may affect other units or citizens.

Equipment Usage:
Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving some latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs, such as word processing.
