    Position Title: Senior Court Analyst II

    Job Location: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Office of Court Improvement, Tallahassee, Florida

    Hiring Salary: $21.78 (Hourly);$3,775.31 (Monthly)


    This position is responsible for professional work performing research and analysis on court operations with a focus on juvenile delinquency within the Office of Court Improvement.  Serves as lead staff in managing the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant.  Responsibilities include developing training programs in Florida for judges, court personnel and juvenile justice system partners, as requested in the grant; completing and submitting grant reports as required; and managing the grant budget.  Responsible for developing annual applications for grant funding.  The position works independently, reporting major activities through periodic meetings with the assigned court operations consultant.  Close working relationships are established with high level policy makers and officials in the executive, judicial and legislative branches of government.


    Education and Training Guidelines:

    Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, statistics, the social sciences or a closely related field and four years of related experience, including extensive knowledge of the Florida Courts System.

    Uses practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements, or logarithms; may use algebraic solutions of equations and equalities, deductive geometry, and/or descriptive statistics; may use basic algebra calculating variables and formulas, and/or basic geometry, calculating plane and solid figures.

    Communications Requirement:
    Reads and interprets advanced professional materials; writes extremely complex reports and papers; speaks to high level professional groups.

    Complexity of Work:
    Performs work involving the application of logical principles and thinking to solve practical problems within or applying to a unit or division of the organization; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results and frequent exposure to unusual pressure.

    Impact of Decisions:
    Makes decisions with moderately serious impact - affects work unit and may affect other units or citizens.

    Equipment Usage:
    Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications.

    Safety of Others:
    Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.


    Special Comments:

    **Preference will be given to individuals with experience in juvenile delinquency, developing training programs and in writing and managing grants. 

    **This is a temporary grant funded position.
