The Florida Supreme Court endorsed the guiding principles in the report, and stated that the goal was to create a fully integrated, comprehensive approach to matters involving children and families. In September 2002, the Steering Committee on Families and Children in the Court (FCC) was established to provide support and assistance to the Florida State Courts System in implementing the guiding principles and practices of a Unified Family Court (UFC) in Florida. As part of its UFC implementation strategy, the 2002/04 FCC Committee designed two Tool Kits and a model family court administrative order for use in the circuits. Since that time, the FCC has supported Unified Family Court divisions throughout Florida through trainings, reports, and best practice guides.
