Committees
FCTC Workgroups
- Planning: This workgroup will respond to the request of the chair of the Task Force on Judicial Branch Planning for FCTC input into the branch long-range plan concerning technology in the judicial branch. The workgroup will also assist the Commission in developing a strategic plan for the use of technology in the courts. Paragraph 1 of the Court’s charge to the FCTCC is to develop a comprehensive framework for the implementation of technology within the court system.
- Manatee Project Oversight: This workgroup will work on overseeing, monitoring and evaluating the Manatee County pilot project for online access to court records and will make recommendations to the Commission concerning the project.
- Access Policies: This workgroup will (a) review and evaluate matters relating to user access fees and funding models, (b) address user identification issues, and (c) address issues relating to the commercial use of court records.
- Technical Standards and Security: This workgroup will (a) collaborate with the Electronic Filing Committee in providing guidance and oversight to the development of an electronic filing portal, and lead outreach for e-filing implementation, (b) work on updating functional standards and data elements developed by JAD sessions, (c) assess existing technology in the court system and (d) recommend measures to integrate appropriate security policies for technology.
- Governance Structure: This workgroup will recommend a system of governance for the development and implementation of technology in the judicial branch to assure integration of court technology at all levels and to assure that all projects comply with functional standards and data elements.
