Trial Court Law Clerk
Fourth Judicial Circuit Court; Jacksonville, Florida
*$3,818.10 - $8,094.37 Monthly
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the judiciary with case management, pending litigation and issues, and/or process criminal and civil appeals. The position is responsible for drafting memoranda, opinions, orders and reports; conducting legal research; reviewing briefs and case files; and advising judges on pending litigation and issues. The position works under general supervision of the Chief Judge or designee.
Education and Training Guidelines

Membership in the Florida Bar is required within one year of hire.

Assist state court judges with reviewing criminal and civil case files; researching legal issues; drafting proposed orders, memoranda and reports; attending hearings; advising on pending litigation, including post-conviction motions, county court appeals and capital cases.
Possess excellent research, writing, proofreading, citation and communication skills.
Have strong organizational and time management skills and effectively prioritize pending assignments.
Exercise discretion, confidentiality, and honesty in handling court matters.
Maintain high ethical and professional standards.
*$45,817.20 annually (Florida Bar Member), plus benefits
(10% awaiting Florida Bar Association membership)
